Adriatic Sea Tourism Report is a research study elaborated by Risposte Turismo which is presented every year at the Adriatic Sea Forum. A study that could become a working tool with which to consider issues and long-term strategic choices, to define and build a framework for the future of maritime tourism in the Adriatic. Adriatic Sea Tourism Report has the main aim of analysing the flow, dimensions, direction and behaviour of tourists and tourism – for cruise, ferry, sail and yacht – in the area that interest the seven countries that face onto this Sea. But Adriatic Sea Tourism Report aims to realise a series of in-depth analyses of the numerous crucial questions which could influence the development of maritime tourism: the environment, the crucial issue of taxation, the international collaborations and networks, the development of destination management actions. Moreover among the objects of the Adriatic Sea Tourism Report is the attempt to read the phenomenon of nautical tourism from the point of view of demand, and not only limiting analyses and sums to the consistency of the offer (moorings) as has been done up until now.
The Adriatic Sea Tourism Report is a focus on tourist traffic in the Adriatic, which is both an indicator of the results of everything that has been carried out in terms of investment, products and promotion, and a starting point to see and analyse a series of fundamental benefits for the economy and employment activated in the involved areas. It analyses cruise, ferry boats and hydrofoils passenger traffic in Adriatic ports considering both variations over the last year as well as medium-term trends. More than any other up to date traffic data provides a snapshot of destinations’ dynamism: traffic, the presence of tourists that arrive, stay, move around, or simply pass through a destination in different ways.
In the first edition of the report there are news and comments on the offer, intended as presence, characteristics, investments of ports, marinas, shipping companies and other important players that belong to the complex industry of maritime tourism, and, to be exhaustive, about programmes, bids and funding which are to be launched in the near future or are planned and delivered in this period by the European Commission, and of projects conceived by individuals or groups and approved and financed – either completely or in part – by Europe, which are related to the theme of this Report.
