Dubrovnik Port Authority is partner of the 2015 edition of Adriatic Sea Forum. Relying on the ability of this event to enhance business networking activities and to put the right attention on sectors related to maritime tourism in the considered area, Dubrovnik Port Authority support the realisation of this international event in its city.
Dubrovnik Port Authority is an unprofitable organisation (government institution) whose purpose is planning and managing activities and subjects in the port territory.
The Authority mainly cares for the construction, maintenance and improvement of the maritime area of the port. It performs skilled surveillance over the managing and protection of the port area (port constructions and sub-constructions), ensuring permanent and smooth-running maritime traffic and safe navigation. It operates together with concessionaires performing inside the port area, coordinating and supervising them and it manages the free port zone.
According to the classification of ports as part of formal legal definition of Croatian port system, the port of Dubrovnik is categorized as passenger port open for public transport; it is one of six ports of international economic importance to the Republic of Croatia.
Very important, in fact, are the activities of management, development and usage of Dubrovnik passenger port, open both to domestic and international traffics.
In its ongoing project of development and modernization of the passenger port of Dubrovnik, the Port Authority is aiming to create optimal business conditions as well as achieving a competitive package of services and a controlled combination of price and quality. It cites one of its main challenges is to continually identify requirements, needs and expectations of its customers, mostly cruise passengers, through open communication and constant monitoring of user attitudes and satisfaction.
